Basic Bee was hatched in my own backyard, in Baton Rouge, LA, with my personal hives. Since 2016, I have been maintaining multiple hives and harvesting honey for Basic Bee’s line of products. We are proud to contribute and be a part of the push to buy, sell, and consume our food locally.  

In the beginning, the honey used in all of our products came from my personal hives, but as the business grew it became necessary to supplement the honey our bees could produce. Our non-flavored honey has been hand sourced by me and my family from Basic Bee’s hives. And since the Earthwatch Institute has declared bees the most important living species on Earth, Basic Bee believes that having a business that helps save and protect a species paramount to our survival on the planet, promotes buying from local vendors, and has health benefits is a business worth having, which is why for all other Basic Bee products, I purchase locally gathered honey to help support small businesses similar to Basic Bee. We then add that Basic Bee lagniappe by enhancing the honey with provocative and pleasing flavors hoping to push food lovers to get creative and adventurous with their own home cooking.
